Spring Break Closure

The Health Sciences Library will be closed to the public during Spring Break from Saturday, March 23 – Sunday, March 31, 2013. The Library will resume regular hours on Monday, April 1, 2013.

During this time, the Library will be unstaffed but open to JABSOM Medical Students, Faculty, Staff and HRP Residents. Exceptions include Tuesday, March 26 and Friday, March 29 when the Medical Education Building will be closed in observance of Prince Kuhio Day and Good Friday.

What is OneSearch?

OneSearch is a one-stop solution to potentially discovering millions of articles, books, media, and other materials using a single search box. OneSearch includes All UH Libraries Catalog plus a huge index of academic journals on most topics, including conference papers, maps, government documents, music scores, DVDs, archives and manuscripts… and more.

Throughout the Health Sciences Library Website, access to OneSearch is via a link on the left-side navigation bar beneath the Quick Links category. Additionally, from the Library’s Homepage, a single search box has been embedded that will execute a quick “Everything” search.

The “Everything” search contains the UH Voyager Catalog including the JABSOM Catalog, Primo Central (articles), UHM digital repositories, and certain Pacific indexes. Use the Library’s Databases and Subject Guides Webpages to find additional resources for your topic.

Please give OneSearch a try. You may temporarily submit comments and/or questions by emailing the Library Director, Ginny Tanji. Please refer to the Library’s Contact Us Webpage for her email address.

Holiday Closure

Modified Library Hours in October and November

ScienceDirect down for maintenance Saturday, August 25 1:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m.

ScienceDirect, the online platform for Elsevier journals, will be down for scheduled maintenance Saturday, Aug. 25, starting at 1:30 a.m. Hawaii time. The outage is scheduled to last until 8:30 p.m. HDT. The University of Hawaii at Manoa currently has access to approximately 2,000 journals via ScienceDirect.
